Why I Became A Wealth Manager

Why I Became A Wealth Manager

June 04, 2020

Some things in life captivate us from a young age and never stop fascinating us. For me, it’s finance. I have always been interested in the world of finance and fascinated by the strategies that help people turn their goals into reality. Very rarely do people’s passions line up with their careers, but I am lucky enough to do what I love every day.

Starting My Career

I didn’t waste any time immersing myself in the financial industry. Two years into my college education, I started working as a paraplanner, getting my feet wet in the job while also building my knowledge and skills. When I completed my bachelor’s degree in financial services, I immediately started working on earning my MBA in finance. At this time, I also obtained the CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER® (CFP®) designation. The firm I was at wasn’t looking for a partner, so I began working for Merrill Lynch as a financial advisor.

During these formative early years of my career, I also began serving as an adjunct professor teaching personal finance courses at Wright State University and leading CFP® exam review courses for Keir Educational Resources. As a result, I developed my own unique vision for unparalleled client service and effective teamwork. In 2012, I decided to launch out and create Anderson Financial Strategies so I could provide elite service for all my clients. The rest is history!

Branching Out

Today, I am president and chief wealth strategist at Anderson Financial Strategies. Now Anderson Financial Strategies has grown to a team of five dedicated professionals that work together to deliver a top-notch client experience. I continue to serve as adjunct professor at Wright State University and also as president of the CFA Society Dayton. In 2014, I earned the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA®) credential and am passionate about bringing personalized financial solutions to my clients so they can live the life they want. I spend my days delivering premium expertise to meet my clients’ needs and giving them a family office-style experience that is difficult to find elsewhere.

Hurdles And Triumphs

As you can imagine, working in the financial world can be stressful when the markets go crazy and the headlines become loud and dramatic. But that’s also where I bring incredible value to my clients’ lives, reminding them that the long-term strategy we set in place was built to weather the storms of life. I love being my clients’ guide, supporter, and shoulder to lean so they can walk the path before them with confidence.

It is my privilege to carry this responsibility, and that’s why it is so fulfilling to see my clients follow a strategy through to the end, avoid pitfalls, and maximize their opportunities. There’s just nothing like celebrating a milestone with someone they worked so hard to reach! That alone is enough to motivate me to work hard every day, but even more than that is my conviction that many people, families, and business owners have financial needs that aren’t being met. We want to share our story and our strategies so that more people can experience peace of mind and start their journey toward success.
